Do you like the eyelet distance? It looks too wide for me.
Aside this, the shoes are really nice — and their other last additions as well.

Paid up for austerity MTO! Looking forward to getting them! Any chance you can politely remind them to use the proper customs code so we don't get hammered with fees like others in the past?

This is what turns me off almost all the Meermin lace up models. The width between the eyelets looks silly to me and makes an otherwise beautifully elegant shoe look a bit odd..

I recently returned a pair of shoes which I instructed Meermin to consolidate together with my newly purchased shoe. I even followed Luisa's instructions to put a reminder regarding the return pair in my new order's comments section.

Turns out they shipped my new shoes WITHOUT the exchange pair. Luisa realised that she did not read my comments in the order form and sent it seperately few days after. Sadly it's been 3 weeks now and I've yet to see any signs of my exchange pair.

Has anybody experienced slow shipping for exchange/replacement pairs? New orders usually arrive to me within 4 days! :brick:

I've been sending them emails every other day regarding the update of the exchange pair and it looks like I have been ignored.

Meermin no longer responding to emails, poor form.
If the Euro continues to rise I forecast a big fall in sales.

Does no one have experience with the quality of this boot or sizing for the Rui last?

I doubt anyone could vouch for long term quality as the longest anyone will have had them is about 2 months. I cancelled my order unfortunately :(

My only guess is that your return package that you sent back to Meermin for an exchange is still being held at customs.

Like you I sent back the shoes I ordered for an exchange. I'm not sure all the carries use the same customs office, but I used USPS to ship the shoes back instead of Fedex, since Fedex is almost $150+ to ship to Spain for some reason while USPS cost me $54. After it arrived in Spain it's retained at the Customs office. Been there since Sep 4 for me and is still there. I read online of some horrible stories people of shipping things to Spain, where it gets held at the customs for weeks to months even if the proper paperwork is done before they release it.

Luckily Sandro was nice enough to ship out new pairs for me since I need them in a few weeks before they received it back.

Another note, I was billed for about $30 of custom duty from Fedex for the two pairs of shoes 2 weeks after I received them, so I fear I will probably be bill for another $30 when I received the exchanges. Sadly the costs really creeps up if you don't get the right sizes. Chances of paying 2 times the custom duties and shipping back will be around $100 - $120 on top of your order cost.

    I absolutely agree.
The odd width between eyelets It is so evident that probably it is a (questionable) stylistic choice.

I had serious problems shipping some returns back as well. My package made two separate trips to Spain before coming back to me after about four months. In the meantime, it spent weeks at various customs offices. I ended up losing the $48 I spent to ship them the first time. The second attempt was successful without any issues.

You have to use USPS to ship internationally for any reasonable cost since I believe they have a monopoly on non-express services going overseas. UPS and FedEx can only offer next-day, two-day, etc.

For some reason, I received a customs bill for $150 when I received my shoes which were eventually returned! FedEx straight up charged my credit card before I even knew what it was for, so I reported it as fraudulent activity to my card company. I later received the bill and figured out it was for the shoes. I called FedEx and got them to cancel the charges when I explained that I was returning the shoes. Both courses of action were successful; does anyone know what you are actually supposed to do?

Can anyone help me with this? So I emailed Meermin with my measurements length is 280MM and width is 112mm. This is for the wholecut AMA shoes. This doesn't seem right at all... I wear 9.5UK E in John Lobb Becketts and I think they said that if I got the wides (EE or F...) it would be a 9UK but they are way too long for my feet. I know I have wide feet but still. Her measurements for the AMA last were:

    > L 304mm shoe sole 8,5UK - L 308mm shoe sole 9UK - L 312mm shoe
    > sole 9,5UK.
    > W 106mm shoe sole 8,5UK - W 108mm shoe sole 9UK - W 110mm shoe
    > sole 9,5UK.
    > L 286mm last(insole)8,5UK - L 290mm last(insole)9UK - L 294mm
    > last(insole)9,5UK.
    > W 100mm last(insole)8,5UK - W 102mm last(insole)9UK - W 104mm
    > last(insole)9,5UK.
    > Foot 26,8 cm 8,5UK - Foot 27,2 cm 9UK - Foot 27,6 cm

I don't know how this could be possible... I thought Meermin's were supposed to be wide shoes? I can't order a 10UK shoe, maybe I am measuring incorrectly? I am not sure what size to order and they have no idea what advice to give me... They said it's impossible for my feet to be a size 10UK in width and size 8UK in length... I must be doing something wrong...

Boots I normally wear 8UK. Shoes can vary from 8UK to 9.5UK depending on width. I was thinking of ordering an 8.5UK to go by length rather than width and hope they stretch out a bit? I have no arch in my foot, it's just a big flat bigfoot type of foot...

    Should I get an 8.5 or 9UK?

God damn that was confusing to read, I think you can only go off width, and based on the width of your feet vs the measurements provided you would need either a 9.5 or 10. Length is varied based on the toe box etc, for example my foot is 270 but my loakes and AE boots are 300 and fit and look quite good. In fact the meermins in 8UK is tight and makes my feet look quite small in contrast to the 8UK Loakes.
