Meermin is definitely keeping an eye on the forum, just got confirmation that those additional sizes are indeed available for ordering!

For those on the fence about the museum calf, i say go for it. i have 2 pairs of it and they are aging beautifully.

Am planning to do a Balmoral in black/grey museum calf ala Maftei's version in the new chiseled last. Will update for orders once I give Pepe a call on this.

    Anyone interested?

terrorsquad: do you have any pics of the new last? Also, would you be considering brown / green / navy museum calf for your group MTO? I'm seriously considering. Just pulled the plug on the plum museum calf. Hope they have stock and I was not too late

AWESOME :slayer:! I just placed an order like I promised! Tan country calf monks and plum museum punch toes! Also bought like all their colors of saphir cream. I don't even think I have shoes that match some of the colors but I guess I will sooner or later :D....

Oh, and stupid question but since there is no place to put state on the address form I put my state in the province field. Will that cause an error in shipping?

I have no decent black shoes so I'm probably down. These substitute for black stitch caps right :D. Was the chisel last pinned down? Do you have pictures?

I've got a navy museum mto in my sig. Just waiting for details on the new last and on how many are needed for a museum calf GMTO.

The problem with museum calf special orders is that it requires minimum 25 orders to go on.I think i will do so in the future but gradually as I want to see how the quality of the new batch of museum calf is. when i talked to Pepe, he was of the opinion the quality from this tannery is better then that of ilcea's.

With regards to the chiseled last, i will be receiving a pair in it soon;will wear it and give my comments on it.

Am happy that so many people adore the museum calf;when we started I told Pepe it will be a best seller but never new it will be these popular :slayer:

Also, have not heard any issues on the plum museum run;i will like to report there were a few pairs that was not sent out due to 1st QC and only sent out to the client after the product passed a 2nd round of QC.this was in line to what pepe promised me when there was QC issues in the 1st batch of brown museum calf.shows their commitment to improve:slayer:

Owh, just to add a bit more on museum calf. For dark brown and plum, it will be a stock item so MTO's will not be a problem.

For other colors other then the above, u need a minimum 25 pairs. This is very much confirmed.

I have 2o people already for my MTO ie black/grey museum calf so we need a few more :)

Thanks for sharing. Not sure if its just the picture or the style but the left captoe why do the sides of the cap look worn or unpolished compared to the top?

    Hi all, new user here.

I want to make the leap and purchase some Meermins, but I've never had any great luxury shoes before to be able to use as size comparison.

    My limited comparisons are:

    - US10 in most regular sneakers/shoes.
    - US9.5 in Wolverine 1000
    - US10 in John Varvatos Richard Cap Toe Shoe
    - US10 in To Boot penny loafers, with an ever so slight looseness in heel

I laid a tape measure on the floor and put my foot on top to get my measurements, is this the proper method?
From 2nd long toe to heel, I am about 26.5cm in length (do I measure to the back of my heel that actually touches the floor, or all the way up the curve of the heel that goes a few more mms?)
And about 11cm in width where my foot is widest at ball of foot to the other side.
Is this a standard measurement for a US size 10?

I initially emailed Luisa the info that I am a size 10US and 9.5 in Wolverine 1k, but after I sent more info about my tape measurements, she said she could not make any size suggestions.

FYI, the shoes I am thinking of getting are:

    1) 10172 - BLACK FEUDENBERG CALF (Luisa originally suggested size 9.5UK (New Rey).)
    2) 102341 - Navy Double Monks (Suggested in size 9UK.) (New Rey)
    3) 10165 - BURGUNDY NATURCALF (Suggested in size 9.5UK) (New Rey)
    4) 101477 - BLACK SHELL CORDOVAN Boot (This might've just gotten removed 2 days ago??) (Hiro)
    5) 102480 - PLUM MUSEUM CALF (Olfe last)

I'm trying to sift through the 600 forum pages for everyone else's sizing comparisons, but it's a bit much.
Also, I suppose I am ignorant about shoe widths, but I suspect I am a D if that is what is standard in the US.

Sorry for the big post, would just like to figure what size I am and get started with order...!

Your best bet is to go to Nordstrom or an Allen Edmonds store, try them on, and then your Meermin size is 1 size smaller. Hard to tell your foot size from a wolverine since they are so wide. Nice job skipping the AEs and going Meermin though. I don't think you could pick a better first shoe than a Meermin Plum Museum Olfe!

Tell me if I have this right re: museum calf. 1) the plum museum on Olfe is now available, and will be a permanent LM offering; 2) the brown museum on Olfe will be available soon as a permanent LM offering; 3) an MTO is being organized for black-grey museum on the new chisel last.

Beautiful shoe in all colors, and I'm planning to pick up at least one. I just want to make sure I've got it right.

Ok, good idea. I went to a Century 21 earlier this week to find an AE for comparison, but they didn't have any.

Will try Nordstrom Rack, maybe they will have? Thanks again for the tip.

Has it been widely agreed that a Meermin is 1 full size smaller?

    Thanks.
