    Thank you!

I for one would wait for the sales (and of course give you a proxy fee for your time and effort)

I was planning on going to the UK/France for a summer holiday, but maybe I'll go to Spain instead

Winter sales have started this week. Summer sales usually start by the end of june.

By the way, I've never sent stuff outside the EU and now I'm wondering - is this sort of "proxying" actually legal? What about VAT, etc.?
Sorry to ask but of course the last thing we all want is to run into trouble! [IMG]

Perfectly legal, you will have to pay tax since you live there, but buyers will reimburse you for it of course.

I´ve now tested a pair of dark brown, Algonquin split-toe Meermins for 2 weeks. I have to say I´m extremely pleased. Finish and sewing are slightly behind my various Carminas, but at 140 Euros, these were half the price. Bottom line: Amazing value in a goodyear welted shoe; C&J benchmade quality at on-sale AE prices.

BTW, the lasts hanging in the store are from MTM Japanese clients.

I don't think they use Horween shell.

oh, well, that would be important to know. I figured since Carmina uses Horween so would these guys.

Well I'm back after trying on the shoes!

First I'll say their lasts are quite wide. I had to go down half a size compared to Carmina or Magnanni. That means I'm a 7 on Meermin, on every last I've tried. So if you have wide feet I believe you could stick to your regular size; if not, you will probably have to size down.

    About their quality:

Their Linea Maestro looks great. I'd say perhaps a little above C&J benchgrade level, with nice finishing, quality leather and and fiddleback waist. The norvegese stitched ones looked really gorgeous. I don't know how will they stand the test of time, but they really seem to be a great value. They're obviusly not EGs or Carminas but no other shoes I've seen look this good for €250.

The regular line isn't as well finished but the leather seems pretty decent and overall construction looks solid. Really good value it seems. I wanted to get a suede wolecut and a dark brown full brogue, but unfortunately, they had none on a size 7, and 7.5 was a bit too big for me. Too bad, because the suede wholecut looked great... So I took a pair of black cap toe oxfords from their regular line, which I needed too since the ones I have are pretty beaten up. We'll see how they stand up...

They had a good looking suede double monk, but not on your size. They told me they're receiving a shipment in about two weeks, so maybe then...

    That would be perfect :slayer:

Sounds like I would wear around a size 10 or 10.5 meermin.

+1. The beveled waist on the Linea Maestro makes my C&J benchgrades look pedestrian by comparison.

Yes, €35. Looks like they're not really lasted but fit pretty well inside the shoes.
