Well, I bought a Hiro last shoe half a size too big that I later sold off, so I have not tried Hiro in the correct size. Hence difficult to give proper advise.
Hiro does look bulkier though, with a fuller round toe.

Is there still room on this group order bandwagon?

As someone who suffered from this bad constructions by AS constructed G&G, I do hope anyone buying pull tabs seriously consider long term wear and tears. Literally tears.

G'. If you like I can request yours made up sans tabs? It was my original preference but thought a 9 eye bal boot with all eyelets could prove a bit of a pain in the arse to put on without them!
Let me know if you wanna ditch them?

You can ask, but I was thinking of everyone. Not specifically to ditch them, but looking at a better way to construct them, so as to minimize the chance of tearing.

Saw a few posts about a museum calf mto when looking into Meermin. Been wanting to give them a shot.

Is there another order going out as well (besides the museum calf)?

If there's a chance of them breaking I'd rather have my boots without pull tabs. However, a better option would be to find out how could we minimize that chance of them breaking.

I'll raise the concerns with Pepe about the potential weakness and see what he suggests.

The basic principle was to use a V pattern stitch instead of the regular straight across pattern. Maybe chogall can chime in?

It was talked about a lot in the two threads I referenced.

So the consensus on these shoes is positive?
(I've heard some problems with their customer service responding times), and do I need to be a Spanish speaker to order (whole site is in Spanish)

Here's the English website: http://meermin.es/?idioma=eng& There's no need to speak Spanish.

I don't understand jack. DWFII knows much more. AFAIK, stitching across for pull tabs or for any places that will be under pressure is a bad idea.

For a seam like " | " getting pulled this way " | -> ", its just asking for trouble. Better to do it " = ", so pulling " = ->" won't create stress across the whole material.

Thank you kindly. Will shoot a message along to Papa as I'm looking for something for the office wardrobe.

How do you feel about a curved V stitch? Too contrived?

Hey Ozzy, I am not wed to anything in particular. I just wanted to point it out. If we can keep it and have a design that minimizes the chance of ripping, then I am for it. Will it rip, probably not but let's do what we can to make a great design better.

The G&G thread mentioned the stitching that attached the tab to the shaft not being horizontal.

The issue isn't unique to Meermin. I think you should ask Pepe for suggestions, he makes shoes. But the straight across stitching is probably the least favorable.
