you got a pic of you wearing the stingray with a typical outfit? I'm finding it hard to picture how that would go.

Sorry didn't have a chance to take a pic yesterday - but I wore a midnight blue suit that has a bit of silk in it that gives it a slight sheen.

I'll probably fail at describing this, but the thing that distinguishes them from a well shined calf shoe is that while calf will reflect light in patches, stingray at times will reflect light from individual beads, so that it's more sparkly than shiny...if that makes any sense at all.

Pretty much. If you are going for understated and restrained, do not wear.

The shoes are 7.5 UK. I normally take a 8.5US

I have been experimenting a bit with shoe sizes as for years and years i thought i was a UK8/US9. My best fitting pairs of shoes have come recently and are a Euro 41 so I bit the bullet and tried the 7.5 UK and they fit very well. The heel box is a bit tight to get on (shoe horns necessary) but once they are in they are nice. I wouldnt recommend the New REy last if you have a large heel though...

Euro 41 is often converted to a US 8.

I just ordered the same semibrogue oxfords on the New Rey last. The service I have received so far has been exemplary. Fitting wise, I was given the following information that might be helpful to others.

    L 296mm last 9UK. - L 300mm last 9,5UK
    W 101mm last 9UK. - W 104mm last 9,5UK

Anyone have a comparison or opinion of the Snuff vs the Dark brown rapello suede? Ive seen some pics here that looks quite light but the web photos the suedes look quite dark. Not sure what the "real" colour is between the two.

Was thinking about exactly the same model. You say you have Loake 1880, how do they compared in sizing/fit?

They mirror a 3625 last shoe in 10.5/11 well, but with a pointier toe. If you can't try a 3625 on, try a 026, and use that/go up half a size (depending on how wide your foot is)

Did you size down 1 or half size?
