I'm thinking about something in suede this time. Will PM you to discuss on this. Best part is still the price [IMG]

Hiro and I'd be interested. The suede/calf prototypes are sharp.

What do you guys think of a wingtip (like the picture below) but in dark brown calf/suede combo in the Hiro last?

I think it would be nice. I'm sure people would support that idea. I personally don't find anything special about the Hiro last since I've taken a huge liking to chiseled toes as of late, but I think it's one of the most versatile lasts (would say and elegant, but that's not quite right).

I'd opt for a different colour, though. Something lighter. A nice mid-brown; not quite tan, not quite the dark brown like those.

I'm intrigued by this group buy as well. I've been looking to buy a pair of two for a little while now.

Count me out on a suede/calf combo (or any other combo for that matter).

Oh, calf/suede combo. I missed that part.

Count me out for any such combos too - I personally think they're hideous.

I was finally able to pick up my first pair of Meermins (dub monks) after traveling and am EXTREMELY impressed with them. Others might have had a different experience, but I'll definitely be buying more based on the quality and communication.

I am having a very difficult time with Meermin. I was told by Luisa on 11-10: "In our shoes you can wear 9UK. This model you request we have now in stock. The total cost is:160€(shoes)-21%VAT+35€(Shipping fee to USA Please do not hesitate to contact if you have any questions. Kind regards, Luisa" Then later the same day when I questioned her about the shipping time frame, she responded : "Dear Larry, You can have in one week the shoes. Thank you very much. Kind regards, Luisa" I figured, great! A week!- no problem 11 days later -when they had still not arrived I e-mailed again, and was told: "We had a problem with your shoes, They have not spent our final quality control If you wish you can wait or cancel your order. Luisa" Why didn't they simply tell me this, why did I have to ask to find this out? I figured I would give them a chance, not be the typical pushy New Yorker, so I did not cancel Now it is another 10 days later and not a peep from anyone. They have my money over 3 weeks. I am getting very aggravated. I work on Madison Avenue, 2 blocks from AE, 6 blocks from Alden, and Brooks Brothers. I frequent these stores all the time and it is a pleasure. Why did I get involved with Meermin again ?

They're Spanish - they aren't as preoccupied with getting things done 'quickly' or 'on time' as Americans.

    It's all in the money...
Easy way out: cancel, get refund, buy Alden or BB
Why did you go overseas in the first place? [IMG]

"F...." the overseas comment. Don't be such an anglo-franco-espania phobe! this is now a world demand economy and badly as things are, all those who trash Meermin, have to realize that you are of such a minority, as most have great email- contact, communication that yours is a minority. You sound like a goup of whiny dandy's, all of who take your style points from GQ or Esq, etc... The simple fact that the double monk is the salivating topic du jour ( for the last 3 yrs) tells me you are demanding, I want it now whiners!!!! The double monk was John Lobb's staple for decades; yet now it is a preoccupation. AAAC may have it right in that those SF crybabies are simple lemmings who have no innate understanding of style, order overseas, and demand service you alone expect. Most never have a fricking problem with Luisa and Pepe and Jose.
