As promised (a day late), here are pics of my new MTO Meermins. These are probably the most boring MTO you will see, but they are for my wedding so...

Details: Black Freudenberg Calf, Maroon lining, Olfe Last, sunken toe taps.

The Olfe last has a beautiful waist

Couldn't be happier with the toe taps

    Couldn't resist

For those wanting a comparison, this is the Carmina Robert last on the left and Olfe on the right. They are very similar in shape and size. The Olfe comes a bit higher up on the heel which is a good thing for me.

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone could help - I emailed Luisa my measurements earlier today and she replied back saying I probably was a UK8.5. I was just a bit skeptical as the only dress shoes I have are a pair of Canalis, and they're size 40.5, which translate to about UK7.5 I believe.

If anyone has a similar shoe size and could let me know, it would be much appreciated!

Wow. Pictures like this really demonstrate how much of a bargain these shoes are. The words "made to order" are straightforward, but when you see the leathers being hand clicked, it really drives home the message. Totally awesome for the price.

Im going to order these shoes: http://meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=1924#

Im not really sure which size i should choose though. I have a pair of Loake Aldwych in uk 9,5, should i order size 9,5 or 10 on these? Not really sure which last they are on but im guessing its Olfe? How does that last fit?

Quote: Hopefully someone else here can give you an idea, but I'd encourage you to also contact Meermin seeking advice. They seem to be pretty familiar with a wide variety of "good" shoes and can advise you.

    Contact them.

I'd also go ahead and trace the outline of your foot on a piece of paper while stranding up. (have someone else do it). then measure the length and width, and
that info will help them determine your size.

I agree mate, don't worry. Just a lot that do a MTO buy (applies to suits too) end up with something "unique" to them that in reality is actually not very wearable, because it stands out too much. As you can see I'm wearing almost the same thing in brown on the other foot, so my shoe tastes are rather conservative.

Would be interested in this also, as I have similar measurements. I'm usually a 8.5D in the AE 5 last- does anyone with AE have experience with the Hiro and Rui lasts? The Rui shell derbys are looking really nice...

As the others advised, I could contact Meermin. But I am afraid the Olfe last might be to slim for you. The Aldwych in 9,5 fits me well in terms of ball width (it's just too high for me because my ball is quite flat) and I wear the Ama last in UK 10 (but I also have a high instep).

    Best regards

I have similar foot measurements (slightly wider than you though) and went with an 8UK for the Rui last and 8.5 UK for the New Rey so it depends on which model you're looking at getting. The fit was fine in terms of length and width for both shoes but for the Rui last, my ankle bone keeps rubbing up against the shoe causing quite a bit of discomfort but that's a function of my foot specifically
