Really? In that pattern? That’s not a defect, it’s a special combo of blind and brass eyelets!
What an outstanding company!Behold the infamous Meermin quality control. Someone in QC wasn't eyeballing the eyelets....
One eyelet is completely missing and multiple eyelet back-stays are missing on both boots which makes them not secured.
Mind these are brand new boots, arrived today. View attachment 2291833 View attachment 2291835
Exactly! The issue regarding the points that should be added to my account hasn’t been resolved. It’s been months. I’ll see if the guys at the NYC store can help with this when I’m there in April.Bummer! I don't know how people buy anything from Meermin if they don't have a location in their city (or are buying in store).
Their shoes, when they are "right" are just exceptional value. But you might have to exchange 3 pairs before you get a correct pair through the mail. Guys at the Meermin store here know me as "the returns guy." And they chuckle.
Have a pair of shearling lined boots headed my way right now - wish me luck!
Same here, 5 pairs of loafers, 1 pair of buckles, 2 pairs of boots and 1 pair of chelseas... no defects whatsoeverI've ordered 6 pairs of meermins over the years and none of them were defective
That's great! Some of my returns weren't necessarily defective. Stitching was sloppy. Another had a scuff mark that realistically wasn't going to matter after a week of wear but was annoying on a new pair of shoes.I've ordered 6 pairs of meermins over the years and none of them were defective
My question is how do I care about them? Use cordovan cream? Dubbin grease? Same frequency as calf shoes? So. Have been some years since I've bought meermin. Couldn't resist a punt on a cordovan but since normal cordovan was out of stock, went for a vaxy one. Great that size was right! Took same size as Hiro and if Hiro was almost too tight, this is almost too big but still great!
Honestly? Now I have 2 "seconds" meermin and 2 full price. Honestly seconds are much better quality control.
Leather is... Weird. Imperfect but I kind of expected that. Very very vaxy, easy to scratch, after 15min wear no signs of creasing but a hint of rolls?
However quality control?
Thongue on reverse Is cracked and I have a feeling toe stiffeners is non existent. Emailed meermin and "everything is within tolerances". Creasing allover toe puffs apparently Is normal(even Infront of my thumbs?)
I mean for a beat up boot I do love it. But as anything with a hint of dressy it would be instant return.
Toe box is unstructured on that model, it's written in the last's descriptionSo. Have been some years since I've bought meermin.
