I disagree, even for the price point they look rough. If we were talking about kudu, I wouldn't mind the scratches and discolorations. But there's essentially no vantage point of those shoes where the imperfections aren't noticeable.

After so many good experiences with BLKBRD at that price point, it's hard to consider Meermin. Their customer service reputation might only be matched by Oak Street's one for poor workmanship. Even Blkbrd's customer service is better than Meermin's, which is emphatically not saying much.

Exactly, I couldn’t agree more! Any amount of money for shoddy quality & abysmal service is too much, imo.
The OP asked for opinions and so I offered mine -- which is that those blemishes won't be noticeable after 3-4 wears thus they wouldn't bother me. BUT, I am not the one who paid for those shoes. If they bother OP that much then definitely return them and get your money back.

Has anyone gotten their MTO shell tassel loafers yet? ETA was Sept (June/July order). Their CS said a few weeks ago they'd ship the 1st week of Oct but radio silence since then.

Well, that’s typical for this company. Based on my personal dealings with Meermin and from the info gathering here, this company isn’t what it’s supposed to be in terms of quality and customer service. It’s unfortunate.

Damn, that bad, huh?

A month's delay in MTO isn't horrible in my experience. Rancourt's recent crowdfunding was nearly 3 months late on fulfillment.

Yeah, indeed that bad. It’s not only about the length of time for a pair of MTO’s to be produced & shipped. It’s about shoddy quality of products, lax production standards & number one for me absurdly awful customer service.

I´ve one pair of MTOs and the delay was 3-5 weeks if I recall right. Think the biggest issue with MTO is that as they don´t know the exact numbers it can have quite an impact on the schedule. Add the long freight time and there we are. Although would be better if Meermin informed ppl in MTO group but haven't seen that done. Other than that I haven't had issues with quality, sure it not always top notch - price isnt either.

Could be that customer service in EU area is different, but when ppl moan about terrible customer service, well my experience has been polar opposite. Answer to questions in a day and no issue returning a product.

My cherry shell pair from earlier this week. These are a little over 9 years old now, and the fit is sublime. I really should wear them more.
