Spoo, New Rey is far too pointy. I had the pair re-made with Hiro, which reminds me of C&J's rounder lasts.

The Ama and Olfe lasts are a nice point in-between. Not too pointy, not too round. New Rey isn't excessively pointy anyways, it's nice if you like that style. Vil last is what I'd really call "too pointy"...

How does the Hiro compare to the New Rey in terms of width? I picked up a New Rey recently and I'd want to switch lasts for an MTO, but I love the width of the New Reys and don't want to risk getting a wider shoe. Also, is there any difference in the instep between the two lasts?

I take it that the shoe you have is this model:
    http://meermin.es/ficha_articulo.php?id=2345

I've had my eye on this pair of wholecuts for a looong time, and now that someone actually has them in the flesh and they look as good
as the site I think it's time to order.

Did you size down due to the wider (E+) last?

Romp, how did the Olfe last fit compared to Hiro?

    Ask Meermin this question.

Hiro is definitely wider on the ball of foot. Not much, but enough to snugly fit a standard-sized foot. Instep is close to identical on both lasts.

New Rey is listed as an E- on the website while Hiro is listed as a standard E, so it must be a little wider. That said, ask Pepe.

New Rey last widens with a little wear. They are now close in fit to C&J 348.

Hmm i thought the rain last On Carmina would be comparable to the 348 and Pepe told me to go for half size bigger on the New Rey Vis a vis the Rain

Jose informed me to go half a size bigger in the New Rey compared to the Ama last, as I'm pulling the trigger on a pair of dark brown oxfords from the Linea Maestro line.

The rain last has a wider toebox. The Simpson would be like the 348.

I've finally decided to get the Tassel in the Ron last. I am a 9E US size. Can someone help me figure out what to get here?

Thanks -- guess there's no point in switching lasts if the one area I'm happy with is different, and the one area I'm not remains unchanged.

To all saying I should contact Meermin, I actually did late last week and I'm currently waiting on a response; if someone posts with a similar situation to mine, you bet I'm going to pick their brains a little bit.

repost from Aussie thread... my meermin MTO arrived. look amazing. Id say the Olfe last is perfect for my foot (hiro slightly wide) and fits much like my C&J belgrave 337 last (albeit the toe roll is a tad narrower, the actual fit is perfect). Im very happy. OK time to plan a pair of 3 eyelet suede bluchers next on this last:). These are well worth the money over the Classic line and dont feel like they need breaking in like i did on my captoe hiro classic line shoes.
