^ I agree. I honestly tire of all these pointless discussions every time I read shoe threads on SF. I'd much rather just a Meermin thread be about Meermin shoes, not all this **** about what sort of construction is better.

Anyway, I just received the Meermins I purchased yesterday. Pictures to follow soon!

Yep those are it, not MTO. I am very happy with the LM line, will order more.
For some reason, the color is kinda off on the website photos, just like the double monks are more reddish on the posted pics. I think they still look great though. I'll be ordering those and a pair of double monk for sure. Thanks!

Got my Meermin MTOs. They recommended a size 9 on the Ama last after I mentioned that my best fitting shoes are Barker 8.5 G and C&J 9 E (though the C&J are a bit too large so I use an insole with them, but the width is right). I also gave them the width and length of my feet (based on an outline drawing on paper). The Meermin's fit closer to the Barkers, so maybe Meermin's side in length but normal in width or something?

As for quality, there isn't really anything to complain about. They look great and fit really well. It remains to be seen how well they hold up in the long run. In any case I can't agree with the complaints Bertel had about his. And thankfully the Ama last looks so much better than elf-toe Vil.

I think he meant that he received his purchase yesterday. or either that he lives in spain.

Oh man. I just reread his post and realized the obvious meaning. English language can be misleading sometimes. ;)

What shoe did you get on the Ama last? Post pictures if you can.

Ok these shoes look great. I have a couple of questions.

1. How do you determine your size? The only "real" dress shoe I own currently is the AE Park Avenue in 8D which fits well.
2. How would one go about recrafting/resoling/repairing the shoes a couple years down the line in the US?
I am fairly new to all this myself, so regarding size, I will just tell you how it works for me personally. Hopefully it will be applicable to you as well:

My first dress shoes were AEs in 10D. I have a few pairs from them in 10D and some alden dessert boots in 10D. They all fit well enough. In C&J drummond, I am a 9E. I used this as my reference when asking for advise from Sandro because I figured that he probably was not overly familiar with AE. He reccomended the Chukkas in size 9, and my MTO hiro last double monks in size 9 as well. So, for a size 10D AE, you size down one full size, at least for these two lasts.

edit: The chukkas fit perfectly, but i do not have my shell double monks yet... but if they were right on one, I bet that their size suggestion will be right on the hiro last too.

I am betting that you would probably find a local shoe repair source for new soles/repairs.
