If it is fake then somebody returned a fake to the store I work at with a valid UPC code. It is so hard to tell what is fake and what is not even when you follow a guide for it.

Yeah I love Lacoste shirts for the quality but these fakes are making me not want to even associate with them. I pretty much wear my lacoste polo's under other shirts or jackets as I do not want to be associated with the hundreds of people who flaunt their so obviously fake shirts on the street.

Quite possible. My friend's friend, I guess you can call him an acquaintance, although I don't care much for the guy, would buy real Lacoste at Nordstrom or Macy's, buy some good looking fakes on Ebay, switch out the tags, and return the fakes to the department store. Apparently he did this even when the color labeled on the tag didn't match the shirt he was returning. Sales clerks can't tell, especially if you return the fake Lacoste to a Macy's that doesn't carry the shirts in the first place. I guess they'll take anything back from any Macy's. He claims switching tags was easy. I don't think it's worth the effort, not to mention it's illegal

I never even though somebody would buy fakes and switch the tags out like you suggested. I guess there is no limit to what people will do to scam someone.

I signed up just to say that Lacoste is a fake. Are you sure it was a department store or from the back of a truck, because Lacoste is supposed to have 2 buttons not 3.

You signed up just to give inaccurate information?

Lacoste does make a 3 button polo shirt. http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/ca...d=prod33120043

That's not right either.

The only way to tell, if the tag has the right color code, is to look at the fabric and the collar. The fabric should be thicker, but still soft. The collar should be able to stand up easily, unlike the fakes.

Relatively speaking. Does anyone else think that regular Lacoste shirts are still on the boxy side? I usually tuck them in because if I don't, the shirt seems too full and flares out wider than my shoulders. I tried their "slim fitting" line, which I believe has 3 buttons, but those are ridiculously tight, and the sleeves are designed for someone who has never had to pick up a weight in his life...maybe for those rich white boys from the east coast for whom the shirts were intended...

Yes, they're still quite boxy. I had to take in the sides of my size 2 shirt, because I couldn't stand the boxiness.
