Measurements for custom made flight jacket

I found a company in New York which will custom make flight jackets to order, and want to be sure that I get the correct fit for a classic A2 jacket.

A 40R slim fit Brioni or similar jacket with 19" shoulders, 42" chest and 25" sleeves fits me very well. Most ready made bomber jackets are very large in the waist and arm area. At the most, I would be wearing a thin cashmere sweater under the custom made jacket. I have a 31" waist and 16" biceps.

What would be the ideal measurements for a well fitted A2 flight jacket? The length will be taken off an old jacket, and is 24.5"...

Thanks for your help.

Honestly, I recommend contacting them and seeing what measurements they can work from, then having a tailor measure you. If this company is any good, they can probably work with a set of measurements and any specifications you make.

I generally wear size 36 suit and for A-2 jacket I am wearing a 38 (it fits snug).
In Aero website, they are recommending to go a size up as well.

Having said that, if you have a tailor to measure you, it would be better.

The idea to get have a tailor take the measurements and then send them off to the company is the best! The tailor would know just how much to figure in for a sweater worn underneath, and would get the arm size and taper of the jacket spot on.

The company is flightjacket.com and they will customize the jacket to your heart's content, and will defiinitely make it according to your measurements. A friend had one made, and the quality and fit were amazing.
