I would suggest rain coats and gumboots…. And bespoke wallet with huge lock and cast iron chain attached to it on one end and handcuff on the other end.
lol you can always buy from the internet. Worst case scenario you can use mail forward services.

Thing is I want to buy in the US instead of the presumably hugh premiums I would need to pay buying from outside- I've read enough of the Australian/ NZ forummers complaints on the subject.

if you're going to India you pretty much need everything. i never lived there but i go for work regularly. i did some research on tailors, etc. and came to the conclusion that while bespoke/MTM was very cheap by American standards, the materials and craftsmanship were quite poor. perhaps someone who lives in India can correct me if the locals have some off-the-radar great places.

you also should stock up on SF approved leather goods, particularly shoes. Delhi is starting to get some international luxury brand presence, but they are more fashionable brands and not SF approved (think Prada, Tod's, Bottega Veneta, Armani, LV...not Lobb or Kiton. although i see Zegna and Dior Homme)...and the prices are staggering even compared to full retail price in America

I think you should be able to get any brands online these days. Everyone ships overseas.
