Huh. Just discovered this thread. Of course I posted in the Random Fashion Thoughts thread for a while before I figured out it was streetwear.

I'm not always the sharpest arrow in the quiver...

I guess he has to occupy his time somehow between tweeting, writing on style forum, and blogging.

Wait. You dance?

I used to. At the risk of embarrassing myself, I was really into a dance scene as a teen/ young adult called freestyle. This was like the early to mid 90s, when breakdancing died from overexposure and was considered corny. So hip hop clubs at the time transitioned into something called freestyle dancing, which was kind of a mish-mash of different styles.

These were all-male clubs -- very, very few women at these venues -- and it would be almost exclusively a DJ show. Then guys would stand in a circle and dance against each other. I first met Will.I.Am there cause he was a dancer back then (later saw him at a college recording studio rapping and remember thinking "that guy is never going to make it as a rapper").

PBS did a documentary on one of the original freestyle crews, called the Mop Tops. This is how I came into a lot of Lo Head culture cause a lot of freestyle dancers were also into Lo stuff.

What's the equivalent of Mario Kart drifting on SF? Extended shoulder supremacy? Denim and sport coats?
