Curious as to thoughts on these sport coats:

The burgundy is Zegna Couture. Does the colour lend itself well to versatility?

Same question for the second, which is a Canali Kei jacket, but in a black and grey houndstooth. Any and all insights appreciated!

First one: pattern is too mushy, not enough definition or contrast to the check to be an exciting sport coat.

second one: scale of tooth is suiting. Too small for a sport coat. Larger scale houndstooth sport coats can be fantastic but this looks like an orphaned jacket

They look a little wintry? I’m guessing the houndstooth Canali would likely pair with more trousers and easily go casual or office. Not a huge fan of peak lapels on SB jackets myself.

I’m sure the Zegna has nicer fabric but sort of a bold plaid. Nice but you might not wear it as much as the other.

kind sad I find almost nothing to buy from paul stuart these days (sizing is also an issue, they dropped a lot 36 and start with 38...), though still lots of stuff from older phineas cole days in my closest, so I guess MTO still works, but just wouldn't bother

Ah yes, all black, everyone's favourite summer outfit for when the sun is blindingly blazing (without even mentioning temperatures at alarming rates in several places in the world with the current heat wave).

That's true, if they cost like 1/5 of that I might entertain the idea of buying something so out there.

Does anyone have experiences with Brunati Como ties? How are the quality and construction? There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on them, but to my eye their prints are some of the most interesting and understated, even compared to renowned makers.

I'm particularly interested in this tie, and I am planning to pair it with a (dark) navy suit and white tie. Also appreciate opinions on the combination itself.

They claim to be hand made, but then why doesn't they make sure the diamonds or squares line up?

He's not talking about the edges. Look at the center of the tie near the bottom and notice how the patterns which are clearly supposed to be straight lines are actually drifting diagonally to the right when you observe it. It appears they did not line up pattern correctly when they cut the piece of silk.
