Yeah, agree on the jackets. I wonder how they are doing since (I assume) being separated from Brooks Brothers? They used to make the Italian 1818 suits at least. Are they still part of the group that just lost Brooks?

I'm not so keen, but then my taste is very much Anglo-Ivy, I don't suit the Italian stuff. Open patch isn't something I've seen on an overcoat before

Yeah, the patch pockets on an overcoat were weird. Prefer handwarmer pockets myself.

I like patch pockets on a Polo style overcoat, but the combo or raglan sleeves and patch pockets seems weird to me.

Navy, then olive, probably would never get down to dark brown.

I prefer olive over navy, but for me I rarely wear jeans and often wear fatigues, so navy makes more sense in terms of what else I wear. If I wore jeans more often I think olive would work better.

Thank you all. My options are only navy and dark brown. I like the olive green suggestion but it's not on the table I'm afraid.

I think both colours would go with a wide variety of clothes, with navy perhaps being a bit smarter. The pros for the brown are that would be probably better suited with dark denim (but at the same time wouldn't go well with lighter blue denim).

Brown seems to be a touch more versatile but for some reason, I'm leaning towards the navy. I'll give it some more thought and pull the trigger.

Okay, CM question for the experts. (@Andy57 and @UrbanComposition sending out the Bat Signal herel) Wifey and I going out for our anniversary this Saturday night. I will wear the white dinner jacket I got married in but want to dress it down a bit. Not going for Connery in Goldfinger this time. Was thinking maybe dark blue RLPL linen pants and a light blue linen shirt?

Maybe a patterned shirt or a light pink linen shirt? Suede loafers, black calf loafers, or maybe black oxfords? I've only worn this once!

If that has self-faced (i.e. not satin) lapels, I'd say you can wear it as you stated. Personally I'd go for a blue shirt in a similar shade as your pants. I like how Antonio styled the Barbanera guys in his:

Not really for me. Shorts are totally casual but can still be stylish and interesting. Doubt I would ever wear shorts with a jacket. If it’s hot enough for shorts it’s too hot for a jacket.

Yeah, I have to agree. If I'm going to suffer through a summer suit, I'd at least like to preserve a bit of visual composure - even if I feel like death.

I always go for green/olive when it comes to casual stuff, with brown as a close second, but my wife has, rightly, started to make fun of me and comparing my style with an (authorised) militia man...

I have just one, and it's natural linen. So tan, I would say.
