Lardini has some nice styling, but jackets a bit short. Would try mtm if there was an option close by.

Yeah, agree on the jackets. I wonder how they are doing since (I assume) being separated from Brooks Brothers? They used to make the Italian 1818 suits at least. Are they still part of the group that just lost Brooks?

I'm not so keen, but then my taste is very much Anglo-Ivy, I don't suit the Italian stuff. Open patch isn't something I've seen on an overcoat before

I did the same thing, for that reason — not a full suit, but a dress shirt, trousers, and occasionally a tie. I feel more “serious” in an approximation of my normal work attire, and having some way to break up the day into parts instilled a sense of normalcy.
one of my partners does that. But it takes so much more effort to put the shirt and tie on when the zoom hearing arrives and then take it off than just to wear the proper pants during the day.

he sort of jokes about the look as sort of a celebration that he doesn’t have to drive to the courthouse, but I don’t think it saves him time or is more comfortable than just wearing trousers during the day.

when I was working at home, I would still out the suit on. It helped me to differentiate between work time and relax time. Too easy to just say f it and step outside to the beach or the pool and blow off whatever tasks need to be done when working from home, when wearing the proper attire it’s a reminder not to do it. Also, it was a reminder when sitting on the beach or at the pool but not wearing a suit that I was not working.
but that was due to the exceptional circumstances of work from home and adjusting.

Yeah, the patch pockets on an overcoat were weird. Prefer handwarmer pockets myself.

Enjoyed the overcoat talk ... but fellows, it was a stifling 76F here in the Pacific Northwest yesterday.
I feel like CM ran out of topics about five years ago.
More like ten ... and yet here I am. I still enjoy it. But my talk isn't at the level it once was ... or perhaps it never was and nostalgia is playing a trick on me.

People do get bored at work and need something to do to kill time.
I'm now retired, but "back when", I had days that I couldn't bill more than 4 hours due to some forum or other.

That's a nice coat.

They also recently came out with a Sartoria line that's fully canvassed, and slightly better materials. Nice stuff.

In terms of business, I assume they're doing well? Last time I checked, they were still making suits for Varvatos, Burberry, Dolce, etc..., and outerwear for Tom Ford. They seem to have cornered the market for half-canvass suits made for other labels.

I have quarter end close, quarterly review, and internal audit coming up in the next few weeks but I'm still dicking around on SF. I don't let work get in the way of making tendies or posting on SF.

If you were to have just one linen overshirt - would you choose dark brown or navy colour?
