Can 'hiring a maid' mean getting someone who wears a maid's outfit, but is otherwise talented? Because if so, count me out of this racket - I'm retired! Where's the help?

My dream is to one day live out in the countryside and just raise rescued animals. I'm still very attached to the idea of cities, but city life has become more homogenized over the years.

Frank Muytjen's bed-and-breakfast in Richmond, MA also looks very picturesque. I looked up real estate prices out there once and was surprised by what you can get for relatively low prices.

Only works if you have slaves groundskeepers and butlers/maids around to clean up after you.

That's not so bad. What's real trouble is when you're not bringing in enough rent from the tenants, so you have to turn the whole estate into a tourist trap a couple of days a week.

Who wants tenants!? I want the space to get away from people, not to invite them in.

People have gotten a lot sneakier. Do you know that they've been passing a law recently that would allow for people who don't own houses to live in little boxes? It's complete madness. I think they call them apartments or something. Just awful, anyway.

I lived in the countryside, locally and otherwise, for many years, and have learned two important things: 1) not all countrysides are worth the living in, and 2) the city is good.

Then how on Earth are you going to support the manorial lifestyle with which you wish to become accustomed without people to work the land and pay you rents?

Yes, the city is good, the penis is evil... oh, wait, just the first part, Zardoz is never far out of my mind, and actually I very peculiarly think that the suburbs are evil.

So are hookers made of chocolate, but they reside in an equally parallel universe.

Rolex is such a parody of itself, it's like a Rolex watch.

Views from my suburban backyard right now. Yardwork in January. Couldn't pay me to live urban. 20210124_144948.jpg 20210124_144917.jpg
