Okay, just to be clear: everyone at PItti is really nice. We exchange pleasantries, and some talk shop, while others have a little good-natured fun and tell crude jokes. As the nights progress into back-slapping hilarity, everyone parts ways with a smile on their face because they got to see another side of everyone that is impossible to experience online. It’s great.

Here are some outtakes from the affiliate dinner with good times had by all:

This is @gdl203 right after @mossrockss told him he bought something on sale and wants to return it.

Oops there I go again. I’ll stop now.

Peter let it go, I’ve only bought a pocket square marked down 40% only to return it like...half a dozen times.

I’m very partial to this fit from day 2 I think. Great photo - great look. Any care to venture a guess at the details?

I always feel this guy could loose one or two accessories from his looks, woodsman or tailored.

I always think that before you leave your house in the morning, take a look in the mirror and add one more accessory ;)

Details:

Hat: Granqvist
Sunglasses: Oscar Magnuson
Coat: Valstar
Shirt: Proper Cloth
Turtleneck: don’t remember (had it forever)
Jeans: Levi’s I bought in the 90s
Bag: Baron

No offence meant; purely a personal take

With drakes 50% sale I’d like to up my winter/fall scarf game. My current go to an old BR tan tartan is sort shedding.

My relevant outer wear is: a black and gray herringbone overcoat. A classic color Barbour and a Navy Peacoat. Can’t get much simpler than that.

What are your favorites from drakes sale?

Save your dough for the polo coat and raglan coat coming out next fall/winter. They are AMAZING.

Is it me or is The Rake completely unreadable? Paging through the current issue. Koh’s opening reads like a junior high op-ed in the school newspaper. Many of the articles are also poorly written. They have a few decent writers but still come across as JV overall.

They also endlessly flog their merch. Likely going to let my subscription expire. I wonder if the Wm Brown Project is any good?

WMBrown is amazing. Still full of very masculine articles (drinking, fishing, etc) but short and interesting. Robert Spangle's trip to Nagaland in the last magazine alone is worth the price of the magazine. Nothing at all to do with clothes; just a fascinating piece. I often wish there were more articles in the world like this, but those days are long gone. Reminds me of old GQ magazines.
