BB? Or they used to anyway
I have zero experience with BB since they were acquired by the latest owners. Their tailoring is now Made in Italy for 1818 or “Imported” for everything else. No more Golden Fleece but they have some stuff under Black Fleece but it’s different from the old Thom Browne style.

Looks like they took a major qualitative step down.

Anyone have sizing advice for C&J Harvard loafers? Todd Snyder has them for 30% off but I haven’t tried them on before.

I have the Harvard 2 in suede on Last 376 in both snuff and dark brown suede (also wear C&J Grantham on the same last). Last 376 has the same toe box as 314 (the Boston loafer) but with a narrower heel. It's their only loafer (exception below) that doesn't pop off my heel when walking.

I'm an 11.5 US in most dress shoes and wear a 10.5 UK in these loafers. Great sale price for C&J.

Interestingly, I can wear the Harvard 1 (on 314 last) from Ben Silver as they are unlined and mold to the foot more easily.

EDIT: Here's the shoe Snyder is selling. It's actually Harvard 2.

“Demand for men’s ties has increased by +479% on Mr Porter over the last three months”

So, they sold 15 rather than three…?

Feels like we’ve still not progressed enough through a return to the wide silhouette to be talking about skinny fit.

If you are going to be in a city and visiting in person for the first time a store you have bought from online many times, in person now mainly to try on new brands for size...

Is it a good idea to wear a coat that you bought from that store?

Or is it better to be anonymous and be an ordinary customer (clearly interested in buying)?

Any advice gratefully appreciated!

Speaking of ties, I was in the Hermes DC store last week and made a comment to my gf with the SA near me talking about how the current Hermes skinny ties suck. The SA said that they're bringing back the previous size (wider) ties next year. The SA said a lot of guys complained that the current Hermes ties are too skinny and aren't selling well.

I noticed that as well. And they do have some nice patterns.

Yeah, rock bands are in a different category anyway.

I was killing time in either KIX or ICN a month or so ago, and their stuff seemed positively tiny - I was wondering if it was more like ~7.x CM, which seems to be the case:

....Width: 2.76"....

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
