Hi guys. I don’t know much about “bucks”, but I like the look and would like to get a pair in either white or cream suede. Is there any particular details/features I should look for? Any specific models to recommend? I am planning to wear them with chinos and linen trouser (and maybe dark denim). Thanks!

Tuxedos: I'm getting married next February and in the market for a tux to wear. In particular I'd like black, preferably shawl collar, and within $1,200. What are the best options?

I have a Pal Zileri tux thrifted a while ago. The jacket fits in the shoulders and chest, but the pants are triple pleated wide-hem no-way. The cluster of $500-800 options (Indochino/SuitSupply/Bonobos/J Crew) could probably work, but I'm wondering if there's another value option between those and the $1,500+ tier. Brooks Brothers website shows very limited availability in their styles - seems like a crapshoot while they restructure.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks. I've had some good OTR shirts from them. I'll check out the MTO suit process.

Thanks for posting this.
I have a pair for anyone who has any questions about it. Kelli at the New York store helped guide me through the process. They fit fairly well (not bespoke fit) as they are a modified 7000 last. You can get the shoes remade for the same price in any different color and with modifications per the JL Bespoke workshop. Shoe trees are hand made. Shoes are totally. handmade. Insane SPI. Quality of leather is the best I have ever felt. Fit is like a glove.

Interesting. So you can MTO the model?

Sounds like it’s just like GG optimum, ie you can have any RTW made to bespoke standard?

I'm a bit out the loop on tailors at the moment.

Does anyone know a reputable tailor, cut similar to Rubinacci (but isn't Rubinacci), who is based out of north Italy at the moment? Lots of friends are recommending tailors I've never even heard of but I want someone with a well deserved international reputation. Price point similar to Rubinacci (or cheaper :fu:) is OK.

I think northern and southern Italian styles are different, but Dembech and A. Caraceni have pretty good reputations and they're around Rubi's price point.

Rubi's silhouette is also different depending on which store you go to.

Some neapolitan tailors travel to Rome and Milan to visit clients.

Michele Mescia in Turin and Franco Pupatto in Venice would be 2 good options just in case you would look outside Milan.

If you want a Neapolitan cut in the North you'll need one of the traveling tailors - as @aristoi bcn mentioned, there are several in Naples that travel North to Milan and Rome (at least before Covid - not sure what's going on now).

A "middle of the road" solution, with a cut that you might find interesting, is Liverano, in Florence. Northern prices, though.

Drapers Ascot 4-ply as a fabric for suit separates. 1-Wearable/appropriate in the summer, or too heavy for a jacket for summer? and 2-Would it work as a jacket on its own or is it too suit-y?
