I think store SAs are pushing them more to increase sales.

    My comment:

Opening Ceremony was one of the early stockists of Patrik Ervell and other good American designers. Their house label didn't even seem that bad, although the quality has always been a bit suspect.

Now, it just seems like they're awful trend hoppers - 4 years late at that. Maybe it's the fact that I'm recognising shit more, but this is just a lazy collab with no thought whatsoever.

I have a soft spot for stubbornly, unapologetically stodgy brands like Jpress, and maybe they thought entering a collab with a younger house might genuinely give them some new thought to work with, but to me it looks like they've been completely dicked over here. There's no design, this is nothing new or interesting, it just comes across as a media grabber.

That said, it'll probably be very popular.

I love driving shoes as part of a summer outfit with linen strides and a polo or light weight shirt. The thought of wearing them in the office is abhorrent. Who does this?

At the airport once I saw two business drones in business formal JAB style navy suits, light blue shirts, ties and both wearing heavy rawhide type mocassins, something like topsiders. I'm guessing they had done this to make doffing and donning through security slightly easier but they looked atrocious.

Although with Vox it goes without saying that everything is even better than it should be, there's really something perfect about this outfit. it's sharp without being showy, it's elegant without being precious. I hope any of the suits I own in the future are cut this way.

I THINK it looks good but taking pictures with a brightly lit window behind the subject is a bit of a noob moov as everything is in shadow silhouetted against the light. Still, any pics that show the mysterious details of vox's inner sanctum and the extent of its contents are always welcome!

I don't think J Press has been unapologetic, stodgy, or stubborn since it was acquired by the Japanese. I think they've been wanting to be hip, but just don't know how.

It's very nice. That shoulder line is very typical of NsM in my experience. Even without knowing that Vox has some of his suits made there, I could look and that picture and tell it's one of Mina's coats.

The way that it kind of swoops down from high on the neck and then curves upward towards the shoulder. Here are three of mine:

and jackets from other makers, just so you can compare and see it's not just my shoulders:

barbera jacket with somewhat similar shoulders: http://ivorytowerstyle.tumblr.com/post/27138605409

Okay, thank you so much for putting this together. I didn't realize it but the shoulder also contributed to why I liked the cut so much, and on yours too.

+1 That kind of thoughtful response (and time!) is appreciated.
