My folks bought a Fisher-Paykel a few years ago, maybe in 1999. Â At first it looked like a plasticky piece of junk to me, and I was against the purchase. Â I couldn't have been more wrong. Â It's a wonderful machine. I generally prefer top-loading washing machines to front-loading machines. Now if only something would happen to our dinosaur of a dryer, which is as old as me, so that we could get a nice one... Â

I agree that the washing machine is much more important than the dryer. I put some clothes (hard-wearing stuff like jeans) in the dryer for 10-15 minutes and then line-dry them. Dress shirts never go in the dryer. So overall the dryer is not that useful for me.
