What do you mean "you people"?!?!?!?!

Just kidding. Don't worry, I am always very jolly when I kick someone in half.

Well, Matt - imho you're on the right track, You know, you could eat more stuff like those near-zero calorie shirataki or yam flour noodles, if you can stomach their rather questionable texture. Of course you'll get very little nutritional value from them so you'll have to be careful.

    Good luck!

dammit, this just got harder. I did so well today too. Salad sandwich lunch. Grilled pork chop on rice for dinner. Snacked on fruit. Drank only water and one glass of herbal tea. I did so well....but....dammit, this just got harder. Tomorrow night - close friend's birthday, dinner then clubbing. I can't miss it....one of the inner circle. Shit. Will be very hard to not drink. Very hard. At least I can go to boxing first I guess. Thursday night - my company is doing the launch of a new bar and restaurant. I've been roped into MCing it. Very hard to not drink at the opening of a cocktail lounge, very hard to eat healthy at the opening of a fine dining Chinese place, esp when it is your client AND it clashes with boxing, can't go. Then it is the birthday of another mate, held in an expat bar. Not one of my besties, but my absence would be conspicuous. Argh.
it's fucking Australia Day today! Everyone keeps inviting me for beer and barbecues. It's like God is teasing me with His sausage and calling on Aussie pride and free beer as extra incentives. Must. Be. Strong.

    What's your goal?

hard to say - the most important thing is to be able to sustain it for 20 years, that is my stratigic goal. I have set a fee specific physical tasks that I want to achieve - run 10 km in an hour without it being too difficult, do 100 one arm swing and overhead presses with a 24 kilo kettlebell, squat 300 pounds for 8 reps X 3 sets. I feel that if I can comfortably do all of these things, I can sustain the body size and shape for years or decades.

in terms of weight, I am hoping to settle at under 180 pounds - 75-85 kilo.

ok basically navigated the day successfully.

Avoided all Australia Day festivities. Pled headache and ducked out on friend's birthday at Lush. Feel a bit bad, but am buying him lunch tomorrow to make it up to him.

Lunch was a 3 course set with the PR faculty head of a university here. Had tomato soup with seafood for appetiser and penne pasta for main. Not too bad. A little carb heavy, but not a lot of fat. It came with apple crumble and ice cream desert, I'll admit to cheating a little and having a couple of spoonfuls of the apple crumble, left the icecream well alone.

Had a meeting downstairs from my gym, got done at 4.30 so joined the stretching class, then boxing. Sore as hell from lifting yesterday, so I was pretty useless at boxing, but hey, still burned more calories than I would have by coming home and saying 'im too sore to go'.

Dinner - grilled tuna and vegetables.

Drank water all day too (other than my morning ca phe sua da, which is pretty calorie heavy, but fuck it, it's my only indulgence, and kickstarts me most days).

Imma call it a success. Early night now, try and run in the morning, and lift again in the evening.

2 days down.....tomorrow a low risk day - nothing major going on either socially or professionally. Thursday trickier.

woke up early, ran 5kms (took me 27 minutes, is that decent for someone who basically never runs?)

Had a breakfast meeting at 8 at a place best known for its grease, so I skipped eating and just had some tea. Got to office and had breakfast of Corn Flakes in skim milk. Lunch at the sandwich bar again (tuna salad sandwich, side was salad). Aside from my morning coffee and the tea with my client, have so far drank only water. Forgot my gym gear though, had planned to lift tonight....guess I'll drop in home, get changed and head out again...

Certainly, while still leaving a good base for improvement. [IMG]

I have been running that distance and about that speed for almost a year now. I have no desire to run any faster or farther than that. [IMG]
