    Probably, compared to the people you hang out with, but then again, I can kick a man in half or rip out his throat with my bare hands and use him as a juicebox. So nobody says anything to me about it.

    Matt, this is how you can get into good enough of a shape to party in Japan:

    - Get in 1/2 hour or so of running every morning before work. Go easy at first and step it up gradually on speed/distance.
    - Still do whatever you're doing (boxing, weight etc.) in the pm.
    - Repeat.

    I should be like 73. Weighed myself this morning...eightpointfuckingfour.

    OK.

    No drinking this week (ppl already disputing that on my Facebook status). I will attempt to not eat crap. I will abandon soda and drink only water. I will work out every day until Japan. I will beat this.

    Two and a half weeks....


    The question is, are you still lighter than the ballerina?

    I'm in the same boat as you, [email protected] After last night's drinking, and a huge ass bowl of pho this afternoon, even my "fat pants" are starting to feel tight. [​IMG] I can't quit rice, beer, and whiskey for the next few weeks, but I'll definitely try to cut back and work out more. My goal is to reduce my waist size by 2" by end of next month, to a more manageable 31".

    You could try this if you actually want results: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/the...-loss-handbook. [​IMG] Basically, you would eat nothing but a 500-800 cals a day, depending on your current weight and current BF%. All the cals would be from protein. You can eat as many veggies as you want, as long as they are not starchy ones and not eaten with dips/sauces with carbs/fat. You supplement with fish oil and take a good multivitamin to make sure you don't go deficient in anything. You do moderate exercise because you're too short on cals to do anything too intense. Everyone I know that's ever claimed they were gonna do the "diet" you just proposed has failed. Based on your OP, all it sounds like you're going to do is cut back from a major surplus of cals to maintenance cals at best. I don't think you'll burn enough cals from working out and unless you seriously modify your diet (much more than you've stated you will), you're not going to see much for results imo.

    Given what I know of [email protected], call me a doubter. I don't know what kind of workout he intends to do every day (I say he doesn't do it) but unless you create a calorie deficit you don't lose weight. You're right that there are different ways to go about creating the deficit, but if he wants noticeable results by the time he leaves, he's gonna have to get drastic. Of course, unless he changes his habits, he'll put the weight right back on not long after he stops.
