Material for a crease proof sports jacket

What would be the best material for a crease proof and hardy sports jacket? Its meant to be left in my car boot and worn whenever I need to look a bit smarter than normal.

- Zegna Traveller Micronsphere
- Zegna High Performance Cool Effect
- Loro Piana Tasmania
- Others ..

Anderson Little makes a great navy sports coat for about $150.00 that is a high quality blend of polyester and wool. I know that sounds bad but it's not. You can stuff that sports coat into an attache case all day, and it will still come out wrinkle free.

I'm not saying that it will take the place of a $1,500.00 bespoke coat...but for a wardrobe staple that can take abuse, it's hard to beat.

x2 on the Anderson Little blazer. I wear one as my travel coat on planes and it won't wrinkle, no matter which midget-sized coach seat I am stuffed into.

Frankly, I wouldn't put a Zegna coat in the car trunk, that just seems wasteful.

Any idea whether the Anderson is a structured jacket with shoulder pads? I'm looking for something unstructured without shoulder pads. Nice thing seems that they have my size 38S ..

Well, actually I may need two jackets .. one to throw in the car, another to wear to informal dinners and less high end concerts, conferences etc. For the latter, I also don't want to look to formal, so I like a good quality unstructured jacket. What of the initially mentioned materials (zegna, lora etc) would be good?

Zegna's traveler line of stuff (are you asking about buying the fabric or the traveller line of jackets) is aimed at people travelling all day. There are various blends etc all aimed at a jacket intended to hold up to that sort of abuse.

But throwing it in the car trunk?

I'd guess the Cashco stuff would be better then some of the lighter weight traveler stuff. But cashco is basically fall/winter.

I'm asking about the fabric. Cos I may get bespoke or MTM and I need to chose the material. Unfortunately for me, I'm rather small with a short body with a lateral curvature of the spine (scoliosis), and most off the rack does not work for me. I almost got a Z Zegna jersey jacket, but they determined my body was too short for them to make alterations without affecting the patch pocket. I'm in Singapore so, need something suitable for summer.

Take a look at the H&S Fresco/Crispaire book. The yarns have a lot of twist on them which improves their crease resistance.

The Fisher 209 wool-mohair book is also highly recommendable. Likewise, their New Fine Worsted range.

All of these are highly suitable for summer wear.

Go to Iris tailor and have them make you something - you can slect a cloth and use their advice.

Yes, the Anderson Little is a normal structured coat with shoulder pads.
