I have a pair of chestnut colored John Lobb shoes. I love the color but do not want to violate any serious rules in pairing suits & shoes.

Would it be okay to wear this shoe with a navy suit?

I personally find shoes that are chestnut (or in general brown with a reddish tone) difficult to match.

I've been considering a pair of C&J Westbourne but it only comes in chestnut. If tan / dark brown is available, I would have fired the trigger.
