Excuse the cross posting with AAAC but noone seemed to have any experience with the company I was looking into over there.

I recently saw some Massimo Cecchini shirts in Filene's in ATL and they appeared to be made of quality fabric and the construction looked good (for $40 a shirt, MSRP was listed as $160). In addition, the shirt was actually made in Italy instead of some 3rd world country. Does anyone have any experience with the brand or the shirts in particular?

Wow. 0-2. I can't believe no one on either board has any experience with these.

Yeah. Their website only shows the women's shoes.

The fabrics were quite nice and the cut looked good on me but I knew I had never heard of them on here or AAAC so chances were good the construction was nothing to write home about. I must admit that just looking at the construction of a shirt and determining quality is not my forte. I usually judge shirts by how long and well they hold up or I ask the experts on the forums.

Hmmm. I just saw this thread. I have 2 of their shirts that I got from Filenes Bsmnt about a year ago. I actually like the shirts. They are a lot slimmer fitting than most of my store bought shirts and they hold up decently. I am a 16.5 collar size. One issue that I had was that the cleaners cracked the buttons - but then the cleaners have cracked other buttons of my other branded shirts too. Comparison wise - Massimo Cecchini fits me better than the Ct shirts(slim fit).

My 2 cents.

Heh. Thanks. Infrequent lurker here.

Filenes Bsmnt, every so often, has a 20% off one item discount. which I had used for my first shirt test with this brand. I have not seen any 20% discount emails from the Basement so far this year.

Good to know that you've had good luck with them. For $40, I'll probably pick up a couple next time I'm in ATL. I really liked the fabric, patterns, and the cut. I just didn't want to get home and have the shirt fall apart.
