Soooo . . . . I have to go to a benefit for a community foundation, honoring a couple of surgeons, and this is the dress. How should one approach it?

Black tie, obviously.

But the rest? Dispense with the mask altogether? Stick a Lone Ranger mask in a pocket just in case other people are dressed like that? Wear a giant feathered Mardi Gras mask and a lot of beads? Wear a surgical mask?

I am not sure how seriously to take this.

LOL. If that snorkel really goes into an armpit it would make for a long night if I have to dance much. The O2 mask might have some merit though.

How about a small mask on a stick that you can place in the breast pocket, like an elaborate pocket square? Then you can still be Dapper Dan while not looking like a party pooper.

You could always look at Venetian face masks or masked ball face masks.

Those are always fun to be at...
