Looking for blogs and books about the typical bachelor pad. I put in a search here and have been looking on the internet for several hours but so far, no dice.

My style: large, dark leather couches, dark wood floors & cherry wood paneling. Typical of what you would find in a smoking room, Ivy League library or men's club lounge.

If you have seen "All the Kings Men," it is the style of Anthony Hopkins's home in the movie.

Many thanks. Been lurking for nearly three yrs. Some great wisdom from you posters. Hopefully, you can help me out.

Not that it's about bachelor pads, but you would definitely enjoy Holliser Hovey's blog:

There are not many resources for bachelor pads today. "Man cave" is the modern day equivalent and usually turns up some pretty ugly results.

Think about taxidermy and fur throws. Think about scenting it with clove, sandalwood, and marjoram essential oils.

Nah, looks like stuff my mom decorated her kitchen with. Too farmhousey

I like the wooden cart thing. If it has something that prevents the wheels from moving it would make an interesting table (to low for coffee table but maybe something to lay cushions around on the floor).

Some interesting links. I got something planned along the lines of a man space when I buy a house. Right away I plan to build a separate garage with balcony overlooking my car collection with an entertainment area and possibly a jacuzzi. 3-4 years away I am afraid to say.

I get inspiration from going into RRL stores, industrial antique shops and poking around flea markets for classic English and American furniture, accessories, Persian rugs, vintage guitars and leather goods.

The best part is to combine your own favorite things any way you like.

Anyone have a clue what that cart is? I'm obsessed with finding one.
