A NY Times article on Martin Greenfield: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/06/ny...l?ref=nyregion

Michael Bloomberg, Ray Kelly, Bill Clinton, and Colin Powell are amongst his clients. MG, also makes suits for many up-scale brands, and costumes for many TV & movies productions, and Oxxford are probably the only 2 high end suit makers left in the US.

This type of adulatory article has run in various publications for years.
From what I know, his excellent reputation is well deserved. I met him
maybe ten years ago at a Neiman Marcus trunk sale for MTM. He was
extremely nice and basically told me that the cut I wanted was not
part of the NM program and recommended that I do Greenfield MTM
through Brooks Brothers, with whom he also had an arrangement.
Will has also worked with Greenfield.

Interesting article. Do you know anything about his prices?

Actually he does sell suits under his own label but I hear it's quite exclusive.
There's an old thread somewhere here about a few people visiting his factory and asking for his son and then arranging a fitting to buy a suit, but the Gilt sale is pretty much as close as most of us will get unless you go to one of his MTM programs with BB or NM.

WOW! I didn't know you posted other than listing what you are wearing for the day.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
