I remember shopping at Marshall's as a kid for discount shmatez. I never saw anything good there. Until today. I walked into a Marshall's by accident, really, and I couldn't believe what I saw: rows of RLPL shirts and jackets, racks of handmade shoes, Zegna shirts, etc. Is this an exception, or is it the new rule? Should I be sure to keep checking Marshall's?

I've heard rumors of, as (whoever runs?) This Fits called it, "the mythical Marshall's" where racks of glory shine from beneath relatively tiny numbers, but I've never seen it. Hell, I've been to the one that he said was a mythical Marshall's, and it wasn't that good. But between the two threads on the front page about rockin' Marshall's, I think I'll have to go double check that.

Historically accurate; the great grandmothers of Texas used to score big deals for all us middle schoolers.

The prices weren't good on the clothing* (130 for a shirt, 599 for a jacket, etc.), but the shoes were priced fantastically. Also, I'd like to see how low the the prices will go once the sales come around.

One item I saw that was definitely worth its price was a 3-pc PRL (by Cornelliani) wool/cashmere suit selling for 499. It was beautiful.

Yeah, lots of Canali as well (89.99 for a shirt). The location I visited was the Arlington, VA store.

One of the Marshall's in las vegas fits this bill. It dwarfs the selection of all the other ones in the valley.

Someone who you and me would consider to be a brand whore, I presume?

ANyway, the best item I have found from Marshall was Valentino Ramo and Dolce and Gabbana. Of course, I bought them!

I stop in Marshall's every once in a while to see if they have anything of quality. At one of the Marshall's locations near my house, I've seen RLPL and Valentino Uomo ties. Not too much in the way of shirts. The best are probably RLBL and Ike Behar.

I didnt think to mention that there were also RLPL shirts because these had been discussed some time ago on SF. Also, a bit pricey at $119 or $159 a shirt (sorry I dont recall), I think you can do better on eBay. But they are there . . .

Also, there were several Valentino suits @ $999.00 in staple navy and greys. I'll add to my PSA if anyone is interested.

I shop Marshall's / TJ Maxx quite often. Their stock is pretty hit or miss here between months. Sometimes I find a few good deals, most of the time I come out with nothing. Recently I found that their packaged dress shirt section wasn't always full of sh*t. I went through it the other day and found a couple RLPL and Canali, unfortunately not in my size, but now I know to keep an eye on it. Hell, I just bought a pair of RL sunglasses and socks there yesterday, spent $15.

For 119 and 89, respectively? (Those were the prices on the RLPL and Canali's I saw yesterday.
