Markowski sizing question

Hello gents. I've been lurking for a while now and I've been driven to tap into your collective knowledge. I saw a few people had good comments about Markowski shoes awhile back so I checked them out and there's a pair I'm interested in that's currently on sale. However, I've sent numerous emails to the people at Markowski with some sizing questions and I've yet to receive any replies. Can anyone tell me how these shoes fit? Are they true to size? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have two pairs of their balmoral style boots. I ordered my usual UK size (9.5) the first time and on arrival found it a little snug - maybe more in fitting rather than length. They needed walking in and were quite painful for a while, however I was happy enough with them to order a second pair (not yet walked in). I have tried on a pair of what they call 'septieme largeur'. I am not completely clear if this is a separate range because they carried no Markowski branding. These were wide fitting and in my opinion of inferior quality. They have quite a detailed sizing guide on the website:http://www.markowski-chausseur.fr/taille.php

The Septieme Largeur is of inferior quality? Interesting. I was under the impression they were the more upscale line.

I actually got a response back from Markowski today. Their size 11, which seems to be the largest so far as I can tell, is a bit too small for me.

Thanks for the help, guys. Much appreciated.

As I said I am not so sure that Septieme Largeur is actually the same outfit as Markowski. They also seem to have their own web presence but without an online shop. Maybe they just sell through Markowski. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but I think SL may be a wide-fitting specialist. The pair I saw were clunkier and less well-finished than my Markowski boots.

I was told by Marcos Fernandez of Markowski that "Septieme Largeur is the upscale of Markowski and the highest quality that we produce."

Yes, I stand corrected. This is made clear on their website.

On the original sizing issue, though, I would stand by my comment that the regular line 9.5 was snug, whereas the 7eme largeur was loose.

I have just received 2 pairs of Markowski shoes purchased during the current sale. Although this post is old I thought I would add my 2 cents. Y seem to feet about 1/2 size too small. They are decently made, but I have to say not of the highest quality. The leather is decent but not particularly soft or elegant.

The pics I have seen of the 7eme largeur show them with fiddlebacks The Markowski do not, but they seem to be Goodyear welted and are pretty. They seem of about quality similar to the Mezlan custom line.

nice info here...I've been looking for a high quality shoe for a while and a friend had mentioned this line, I'll have to check it out. Still reading thru all the shoe lines conversations on this site, very informative.
