To cut it short :

Leather is pretty good, quality for the price is there. The owner of the brand is into shoes for over 25 years and is working with the same factories for more than 10.
I would recommend getting a pair, especially from the new line "septième largeur".

They even have cordovan collection, not sure if they used shell cordovan leather. Prices seem reasonable too.

I had some JLoic Orange, which are made in the same factory and they were definitely worth their money. Lasts are mostly quite pointy though.

Any update on this? I have also been thinking about a pair of markowski, but would like some more comments from people who have actually purchased from them if possible?

I was tempted 3 years ago when they launched the website/brand. I preferred English shoes at the time (Grenson) and moved on since. There are lots of Markowski threads (in French) on the shoe forum De Pied en Cap. I would like to see them in person next time I'll be in Paris. But since this is not a widely distributed brand and they not discount them much, I'm not much interested.

Are you willing to take a leap of faith? I've tried Bexley in the past and after several sizing troubles and so-so quality, I decided to stick with English shoes. Just because everything checks out (GY welted, calf leather etc etc) doesn't mean it's a great shoe.

Well, I tried 4 or 5 pairs of Bexley shoes in Paris and none of them fitted well or looked good. So I'm not convinced by any of these relativel new English-named French brands (Bexley, Finsbury, Loding, Howell in CH). I just would not buy Markowski without trying them on.

Markowski has a great reputation on De Pied En Cap forum (French equivalent of SF). The maker and shop owner is a living shoe encyclopaedia.
The consensus would be that in terms of quality, Buxfer << Loding < Markowski.
