Due to a restructuring of the company, I am now in a position where knowing more about marketing, public relations and communications as it applies to countries outside the US would be a definite plus. Would anyone have suggestions for self-education in that regards? I am located in a city where no related course or seminar is offered at this time. Thank you!

Yes. And I realize it sounds idealistic to pretend to learn about strategies pertaining to each individual country in the world. I'm not sure what is available out there, if there is such a field of study. It would be a start if I could focus on Europe first, Asia-Pacific second. Latin America a distant third.

I do need to learn about France in that regards. This was not my field of study, what I learnt I acquired on the job, and that's good enough for now, but I wish I could do a more in-depth study of francophone countries in Europe.

But going back to your offer, how much do you charge?

Fab,

hmmmm...... I guess that would intersect with what I do, biut only on the B2B side - I have never really had anything to do with consumer stuff. I don't know of any course of study that would deal with this, specfically. very frankly, the mechanics of how I communicate globally is very similar to how you would do it in the US, with minor variations for culture. how I learned was by learning about basic american marketing concepts and then, with expereince, applying them globally.

I would say that the biggest difference, in B2B communications, globally, would be in how you find the right channels for your messages.

anyway, if you have any questions or specifics, please pm me.

Maybe there are good answers to this and at some levels courses may should be taken. As a primmer however I think applying the same levels of concern you would to your native country should be applied. Marketing to a global society, I have found one thing and that is people are people the world over and the ones of interest to our products all think the same.
