Everyone, I wanted to share my experience having a MTO belt buckle made by Mark Kielty of Mark Kelty buckles. I am writing this prior to receiving my buckle based upon completion of the buckle by Mark and his mailing the item (I should receive it this week). There have been some great stories on here recently of artisan's work (mainly from Naples) and I wanted to let people know about my experience working with Mark, an American artisan. Mark's website is: http://www.mkelty.com/ I chose the Bentley Buckle set (with keeper) in a custom size (1 and 1/8th") with a special hammered matte finish. A similar example in gold in 1" is seen here: http://www.mkelty.com/#!1%22---b-u-c.../vstc1=bentley The project started off approximately 3 months ago with a call placed to Mark. We spoke at length regarding what I was looking for in a belt buckle, and what he could do. He is quite flexible, and I thought his pricing was solid (and appropriate) and timing of work are fair (I was not in a huge rush to have the order completed, and some production issues arose that delayed completion of the set). He started working on the set soon after receiving payment (within two weeks), often keeping me up to date via either phone or email, with descriptions of what stage the process was in and whatever arose during the process. His communication was A+. He also provided photos without me asking and promptly emailed them to me. He is quite detail oriented and personable, and able to complete an order via phone. If you want something special, please consider contacting Mark. I will update this post once I get the buckle and keeper.
