For sure, but this won't be the first time they've been repaired and they're getting to the point where it's questionable as to whether they're appropriate in some settings.

I don’t know any, I haven’t seen black in a year or 2 but I’m sure they’ll be back. It would be worth emailing customer service and asking if they have a pair or if they know when they’re coming back.

Been looking for an older pair of trousers from Margaret Howell from SS18. Any chance anyone here has a pair in the back of their closet? It's a single pleated, navy cotton pant w/ tab adjusters on the side.

Does anyone know when the sales are usually for the main site? Christmas, Boxing Day, etc.

Is anybody here local to any of the mainline stores? I’m very interested in the single pleat trousers and oversized dress shirt this season but my SA works at the MHL shop and can’t really give me any impressions

Spring Summer 2023 collection has been previewed at London Fashion Week. Here are some photos at Vogue. And there’s a little video on the London Fashion Week website. I like these new videos, they’re a little bit quirky and somewhat anachronistic, but that’s what I like about them.

This season there is a new collaboration with Fred Perry. I couldn’t quite pick out the pieces in the photos or video, but I’d be interested to see what the sweatpants look like. Anyone get anything from the previous Fred Perry collaborations?

I’ve been waiting for Margaret Howell to do some more hooded parkas, looks like there is at least one MHL one this season (the other is perhaps mainline). They both look good I think.

Fred Perry though?!

I’ve never seen or heard anything about Fred Perry other than the week I spent in London like 10 years ago. It just seems like British Abecrombie

I miss runway MH.
Fred Perry is heritage stuff. Anyone remembers the original Raf collab aeons ago, had some great stuff like a pair of 30s inspired enormous wool trousers.

Fred Perry polos are also, unfortunately, the unofficial uniform of US-based far right fascist asshole group the Proud Boys. Which is sadly now the closest association with the brand in my mind.

I remember the stuff as just being typical Fred Perry polos and prep stuff with the “R” logo.

I guess the Fred Perry collab makes sense as they are both legacy British brands but still, Fred Perry bad, Howell great.

I think it makes sense. As you said, it’s a legacy British brand, not dissimilar to other brands Margaret Howell has worked with (e.g. Barbour), and reflects her interest in incorporating more sportswear. I thought the Fred Perry collection from 2019 was well done and I look forward to seeing how this one turns out.

I don’t like to wear anything with an obvious logo (the tonal logos from the previous Margaret Howell collaboration were tastefully done, in my opinion), so that rules most of Fred Perry out for me, but I like the look of their Made in England line, which seems to be better quality than their usual fare. And I did own a few Raf Simons pieces back in the day. They were nice, and it looks like he is still collaborating with Fred Perry.

Out of curiosity, what do you miss about seeing the collection on the runway? I wonder if they are showing any of this collection in person for London Fashion Week or if it is entirely online, and whether or not they’ll go back to showing it on the runway in the future?

Full length silhouette and you can better judge the flow of the clothes, but mostly I think I just happened to prefer the colors and styling so I'm being a bit unfair.
