Prices aside, it'll be interesting to see how/if sizes have been adjusted, as per the interview with MD Caroline Attwood: "...And on men's we've shifted the sizing down because the feedback said it was coming up very large. Our shapes are not body-hugging, so there is a generous cut about them."

I read that piece and was reminded of it when looking at the size guides.

For MHL trousers at least, the waist sizes are now smaller than they were for the last few seasons. Used to be that L was 18" waistband and X was 19"; now L is 17", X is 18" and they've introduced a new XX for the 19" range. The XS now caters for very slim / narrow waists at 14".

On the other hand the Archive Jacket size X measures 26.4 across the chest which is wider than last seasons' X size jackets, and there's a size XX too. But I guess it is a boxy style.

When comparing the same (in name at least) garments from the new season it's hard to draw any conclusions. The Monogram Shirt is larger in the same size, whereas the Seamless Crew Neck is noticeably smaller even in the size above, based on the measurements. Ordering the 'right' MH size online is always a bit of a gamble, now even more so..

I requested the measurements for the Monogram shirt (AW24) as they were originally not shown. When they put them up they were huge - a size L was shown as being close to 27 inches across the Chest so when I read your comments I thought they were wrong. I did query the measurements with Customer Services — it appears they must of of them wrong because they've been updated and now appear to be smaller by 2.5 inches. Now I'm completely confused because they are meant to sizing down this season. What a mess.
Wait until you see the new season pricing.
Prices appear to have gone down a touch!

I checked out the Archive Jacket at the Wigmore Street shop today and the published measurements for that are also way off: 2 or 2.5 inches wider than reality for the L and X sizes.

The sales assistant told me she would pass this on, and I think a fair bit of the operation is run from that site anyway, so maybe they will update those numbers too. But what chaos!

Are saying the jacket comes up smaller in person? The measurements on the website are around what I would expect for a L and X.

I sized down in the MHL T Shape Rollneck from this past FW and it is still the most oversized knit I own. It's much larger in length and width than indicated in the size chart.

Yes, we measured an X and it was nothing like 26.4inches across. I don't recall exactly, but perhaps just under 25.

The general idea seems to be that the new XX size is in line with past season X, as far as I could glean from discussions with the staff there. But as always there is variation across the range.

I managed to check out the Monogram Shirt in person and can confirm the updated sizes shown on the website are correct. As for the shirt itself: fabric I'd describe as mid-weight, the silk gives it a soft matt handle. Not sure if I'd describe the colour as Ink, it's subtle, it's dark, a touch grey. It's cut very wide across the shoulders - you get a slight drop on the shoulder line - not sure if I liked this. The collar is deep and a little oversized. Buttons are mother of pearl and oversized - like the Simple Shirts. The The Monogram is sweet. Made in Italy not the London workrooms.

Need to correct my previous post: when I said Simple Shirt I meant Minimal Shirt. I think there was a shirt called Simple.

The increments between sizes are relatively small. That jacket does look quite small on the model - it will be a size Medium if it's a sample. This jacket looks very similar to the first reinterpretation of the M025 made in blue gaberdine for AW11:
MH ARCHIVE WINDCHEATER, petrol blue, soft gaberdine
MH ARCHIVE WINDCHEATER, grey, loden marl

I love the archive garments but I wonder how true they are to the original?
The M025 from AW20 is only similar to the one worn in The Shining.
