So today I saw the coolest jean jacket in the newest issue of Details today. It seems that Marc Jacobs has gotten bored with doing customized Vans and has gone into making jean jackets. It looked pretty cool from the picture that I saw in the magazine, but the only problem is that it cost $400 for it. If I find a picture, I'll post it here.

actually Marc Jacobs has a ton of collabs that he's done. It's no surprise. He's like the Phillip Starck of fashion.

Yeah, I know. It's just a shock that he's doing one with a brand so classic.

Is this a Wrangler 47 item? I know someone mentioned that this was Wendy Mullin's last year; is Marc Jacobs taking over the 47 line, or is this just a Wrangler one-off, I wonder. That might be awesome.

It's not really so surprising if you consider that it was his 91' (iirc) grunge collection for Perry Ellis that really put him on the fashion map. Sure, he does a collection for Louis Vuitton now, but both his personal aesthetic and that of his eponymous line is closer to his grunge collection.

I don't know, but I doubt that MJ would be taking on the Wrangler 47 collection. I mean, he already has is own collection, LV, and a diffusion line.

That's true. And I don't know the history of the 47 line, but it would certainly be an odd jump from Mullin to Marc Jacobs. I guess it's not likely, but a guy can be optimistic.

here's a Marc Jacobs question. Does the main line still exist for men, or does only his diffusion line? I've not seen any main line Marc Jacobs menswear in years, even in the Marc Jacobs stores.

Yes, it exists... unless I was trying on women's clothing at Barney's the other day.

Well that doesn't seem out of character, so I don't find it particularly convincing. Don't you always try on a bunch of women's clothing when you go to Barney's?

That's just when I am shopping with you dude. Notice that I never buy anything. I just find it funny to see you putting down the plastic for women's jeans that I just know are going to hurt your nuts (see APC hipster thread, above).

    I'd have to score this:

There's a 70% off sale on Marc Jacobs menswear. No sunglasses, though.
I also snagged these for $25, but all they have is size 11.

I concur. What stores does this include? For $25 I can sure as hell make my 11 1/2" fit into an 11".
