Apologies for the delay. Was on a business trip. These things need to be funded, you know.

i am anticipating Appreciation. food, clothes, or otherwise

Food was lovely. Will make a special post within this thread on that but here's a preview.

How did you manage 2 fittings in less than one week? First visit to Naples for measurement and 2 fittings on the second?

Correct. We went to Naples on Tuesday and returned on Friday with Marianno suggesting that we have one fitting in the morning and then another late in the afternoon.

Groan...another "Mystery Bespoke Tailor" - must make everyone involved feel so very special.

Mystery Bespoke Tailor is actually the name of the house. After A&S and Rubinacci, it's probably the most popular on StyleForum.

As originator of the phrase, I should have pressed for exclusive rights.
Now, cheap copies abound.

My apologies for using the term Mystery Bespoke Tailor as it has been tainted by the notion that a poster does this for attention seeking purposes. While this may be the intent of some individuals, it is not the case here. For example, a few artisans specifically request that they not be mentioned on the forums.

Regardless, this is an interesting point for future discussions.

If you must know, this is where Mao really gets his shirts from. He casts a strong helo effect.

Where did you stay ? always in the market for hotel recs here .

We stayed at a three star hotel near Termini, Hotel Milani on Via Magenta. Nothing special but good enough for our needs.

what cameras are you both using

I was using a Panasonic GF1. Mao was using a FUJIFILM FinePix X100.

Wow, Rubinacci is fast to be able to give you two fittings in a single day. I guess that is one reason for the $$$$.

My neapolitan tailor does the same for a fraction of that money. But therefor no English, no emails, no nice shop in Chiaia.... etc

Great report - keep on posting! :fonz:

Did you get a firmer shoulder on the Rubinacci or does it just look like that when the sleeves are basted on?

Looks like a really fun trip.

We obviously had to pay our respects. Excuse the casualness of our attire.

You like?
More to come…
Not the Brioni I see at local retailers (San Francisco).
Looks more Neapolitan.
