An acquaintance of mine recently brought some Californian wine to a dinner party we were hosting. Everyone enjoyed it, especially the women, FWIW.

It would be silly to say all French wines are good, but I admit a terrible weakness for Côte-de-NÃ

I agree in general terms, but rieslings would be an exception. I prefer sancerre, but many prefer NZ sauvignon blanc.

I'm guessing this might be due to some of the reason why Kendall Jackson Chard is so popular ... a slightly higher sugar content. I have noticed this in a bunch of NZ SB. Still, I drink them fairly often when it's hot out. Otherwise, the Loire valley is absolutely my favorite white producing region.

Anyone who prefers KJ to white burg should not be allowed to drink wine.

if she prefers KJ and it's wine that lubes her chute ... she is allowed to drink as much as she pleases.

took me a bit to think it through. I'd certainly start out with Riesling and Pinot Gris (Pinot Grigio). I much prefer German and Austrian versions of the first, and for the second the great Friuliano producers like Felluga, Plozner, jermann and venica et venica are very hard to top. at the moment, i'd even go so far as to include possibly spanish garnachas ... ch. rayas notwithstanding ... except i simply don't know enough about them.

That most of you prefer obvious women in low cut dresses to the more restrained, interesting types? It isn't really surprising, I guess.

I think I can speak for most here on StyleForvm when I say that knobby knees are the only thing worth looking out for.

I don't know anything about wine but I support Manton's Second Law. I also think it applies by default to most things outside of wine too. I would call it Modified Manton's Second Law (MMSL).
