Ed, go to Cornells just make sure you bring lots of photos of the kind of suit you want.
The Manila Haberdasher has new fabric hookups so you might want to consider him too.

Haven't had a chance to drop by yet. I'll update when I do.

    Thanks for letting me know!

Is there a current preferred place for alterations? I read earlier in the thread that Cornell's doesn't do alterations and I'd like to get some things altered while I'm there as well.

Hey, nice thread, found it while googling Manila tailor. I am going to check out Cornell tomorrow, if they happen to be open, for some shirts and slacks and a barong or two. Today I got some measured and put a deposit for jeans, at a place called Defacto, in Legaspi Village/Makati. I promise I am not spamming for them, not sure how they will turn out but heard a positive reference somewhere else on the web. Fwiw, they have a buy 3 get one free promo going on. Price is about 2500 pesos per pair.

The place is right next to "the tailor shop," I think when I saw that I thought, man I could use some MTM shirts.

I agree, I think he caught on to that, now he has an option to have them all plain, with only a very simple leather swatch for his "logo"

Heads-up, Deal Grocer, a Groupon type site is offering a deal on a bespoke shirt from Ascot Chang shop in the Makati Shangri-la. The deal is a voucher for a shirt for 8500 instead of 17620 PHP. You are not limited to one voucher. Deal is about to sell out. I picked up one to give them a try. While earlier in this thread this shop was heard to be not as good as elsewhere in Asia, at this price point it may be worth a try.

    Hey B,

Acidboy has saved the day and gotten J to give my stuff to him. A quick glance tells him it's probably the stuff I ordered, the Cornell stuff and the extra fabric. I'll update things when I get the package.

    That's good to know, m!

Picked up 3 identical button down shirts from Cornell yesterday. They really seem to have a problem getting the collar buttons right the first time.
Next up are a couple of linen trousers.

Hi gents, a friend and I are both clients of J from theManilaHaberdasher. Both of us have had trouble contacting him on all channels phone/email/facebook/google+ for over 2 months now if i recall correctly.

Does anyone have any reliable way of contacting him or know his whereabouts now? I am suspecting he is out of the country, but should at least be reachable, if that is the case.
