At the next EG sale, I will be taking names and causing some trouble if people are buying 9.5D-UK in 888 last.
Try calling the BH or Dallas store, which also stock RLPL. The added advantage of BH being that its open until 9ish EST. I had my pair of Mackays drop shipped from the store--$15 flat shipping and I saved on tax.

Actually, Arg, I am already mad at you for getting the Vass from To Boot sale (not really mad, but a nice shade of olive-green with jealousy). norcaltransplant -- that's probably what I'll do, although it definitely takes away from the instant gratification factor.

I was at the mansion today and was told the only Purple label shoe that will be on sale is is the suede monk. Is this not correct? The price was 569 before the 15% additional.

The cordovan chukka was originally $698, so it's selling for $360. Still a little high for me, but if I didn't already have the cordovan Darltons I'd be tempted.

On the off chance you can make it there in the next hour.

The ties are now 14.99
Pants 29.99
Sports coats 149.99
Suits 299.99 (3 for 679.99)
Outerwear 49.99/99.99 (unlined/lined)
Shoes (49.99) (only ivory suede monks left sizes 8-10)

Shirts are almost all gone.

Sweaters 49.99

Some good things still left. I picked up two 100% cashmere sports coats (one of Lora Piana cashmere ^___^) Anyone ever hear of top china cashmere? On a Baldessarini jacket?

re the Mansion,

just back from picking up a pair of C&J Marlow Wingtips in pebble finish calf (original price 695, marked down with 30 and 15% discounts to 448 with tax.)

I was told by the salesman that just the suede Purple label (EG) would be on sale and a many of the Blue label (including what I purchased).

It was a breeze getting into and out of the store today.

I just happened upon a Barneys sale - just getting started tonight. 50% off ties. 33% off shoes. Shirts are on sale too but I didn't check them out. Don't know about suits, etc.

Did a little damage on ties and shoes, but nothing too bad...

I actually got the extra 15% last week when I picked up my items from Pre-sale. Just had to ask nicely.

What kind of shoes is Barneys stocking these days? The last time I went in there, the salesmen put me off from returning for what has been a few years now.

Interesting - the sales folks helping me were great. I guess you never know what you're going to get in those places. This was my first purchase there.

I was moving very quickly but saw Ferragamo - unfortunately, no Tramezza - a few pairs of C&J, and a bunch of other stuff. I'd say about 15-20% of the stuff on the floor was on sale, including some Barneys store label stuff that was fairly nice.

EDIT - ties at 1/2 off were nice. Picked up one each of Holliday & Brown, Drakes and Zegna.

Yep just have to ask - I picked up the Stern on Monday. Anyone (argoth maybe) know what kind of suede it is (if it has a name) and the name of the color? Its pile (for lack of a better word) seems thinner than that of the C&J suedes that are there. Anyone know if less or more pile (fuzziness) to the suede is bad or good (or neutral)?

i have suede mackays and the suede does indeed have a less thick "pile" than my suede C&Js. however, i think the suede on the EGs looks cleaner and more expensive looking. they just look better made.

In case anyone miss the thread in Buying and Selling, Ian Daniels aka ShopTheFinest.com is going to have a trunk show this coming weekend in Manhattan. I have brought many Borrelli, Barba & Finamore shirts from him. Great prices, top notch service. Don't miss it.

Again it is this coming weekend Nov. 17th, 18th, and 19th. 9am to 6pm at the:

Bryant Park Hotel
40 West 40th Street
New York, New York 10018

This luxury boutique hotel is conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan. To gain access to the suite my understanding is all you will have to do is use my name with security.

Should you need to call me for any reason I will have a dedicated cell for the trip. The number is 310-406-4733. I will be bringing a credit card machine and all major credit cards will be accepted.

If you cannot come to the event yourself because you are too busy or unavailable, PLEASE refer as many clients as possible to the event. A luxury event like this, in a large suite, in a boutique hotel overlooking Bryant Park is VERY expensive to put on. I am hoping this will be the 1st of many to come, but I am relying on the true fans to make this as big as a success as possible.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Best regards,

Ian Daniels
