Do you know what the prices are like? Zegna Couture is up there with Brioni in terms of quality.
its a flat rate of 80% off of original retail. Zegna mostly stopped their couture line, but the sample sales usually have older stock so they'll probably have some Zegna Couture. If i remember right, the blazers were usually around 3-4k retail so 600-800 ea.

Last couple years or so, Zegna’s exploded in popularity along with Loro and the other so-called “Stealth Wealth” brands. Triple stitch sneakers are a pretty common sight along with summer walks. Also reflected in their large price hikes and consolidation of labels.

The price hikes are pretty insane. Their dress shoes are a good case in point.

Zegna Couture shoes were selling for under $1000 USD right before the pandemic. They were made by Sasseti, good-year welted, produced on nicely sculpted lasts, and had closed-channel soles.

Now their high-end dress shoes retail for $1450 USD and look like this:

LHCLG-A5683Z-TDM-A

I will say that the new models are decent. I don't mind the rounded shape of the last, and you can tell the leather is good quality. That said, they raised prices by over 50%. At these prices, they're getting into Tom Ford pricing territory (another licence the own).

Thank you for confirming. Couture is still around, but now it's called 'Atelier'.

Yea Zegna is still up there in terms of quality despite their modern shift. Im generally only okay with it because they're still focusing on the fabric of their garments and the XXX sneaker is maybe my favorite modern trend. But their pricing has gotten insane. A typical Zegna suit is now at least 3.5k with prices trending even more upward and even breaching 10,000 for a Oasi Cashmere suit. At that point just go bespoke or for the less custom minded Kiton/Attolini

What is the label for ZC? I saw By Zegna, EZ, and something else
Generally the most recent label for Zegna Couture right before their consolidation down to the new ZEGNA label looked like the below. Haven't seen the new atelier label but if i come across it today I'll post.

Typically, Zegna Couture/Atelier have the xxx inside the jacket. It used to be 'Couture' in addition to the triple X. Like this:

If anybody can proxy a suit in 40R in their Sartorial/Milano fit (t's a great beater suit), or a Zegna Couture in 38R, I would happily pay a proxy fee.

Just came from the sale. Good amount of stock in large sizing left and large stock of 48 sport coats. No main label suits between size 44 and 52 apart from a few couture that are very unique… I’d wait till Sunday, there should be stock left in the sport coats at 90%

Zegna fits are interesting, and they're good conservative suits in that the silhouette is very plain. I tried on the Sartorial fit today at a local boutique, and it's 'ok'. Good for a more conservative office environment.

They've played around with the Couture/Atelier fit for a while, and as it stands, has a more pronounced silhouette than Sartorial. I suspect they use a thicker chest peace for this model. It's nice, but not $10k nice.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
