Call the Chicago store. On the 26th they had two solid navy (one a twill) and at least one striped I believe in 38R. They WILL ship to NYC, if you don't like it, return it.

As it was explained to me by two SA's on the second floor, the stuff that doesn't go on sale are items that get constantly replenished or items that don't drop out of the line from season to season (I know there is a word for this but it's not coming to me). This includes solid black/charcoal/navy suits, tuxedos and the classic 2 button blazers.

Everything else is "seasonal" and won't be in the spring line.

I asked about the blazers and he said it may happen during some November sale but that it doesn't usually go on sale. The same with the white and the blue shirts. I really do want one of those blazers though so I hope that happens. I did end up with a solid navy for whatever that's worth.

I may just stop by there. Also, my friend called to let me know he bought 2 RLBL at the chicago store - one in solid charcoal and one in navy stripe at the ridiculous sale price for himself (he also got something for his brother). He of course did not get the gift certificate so if any of you have that coupon use it!

Kinokuniya is having a moving sale, all books, magazines and DVDs are 50% off. Alas, all the clothes Appreciation and shoe Appreciation magazines are gone. Its new location has already opened at 1073 6th between 40&41 right across the ave. from Bryant Park.

If it is any consolation, I was there a wk or 2 ago and the most current issue of LAST wasn't that good. I didn't think it was worth buying even at 50% off. OTOH SF has made my shoe standards particularly high.

The Italian (not Phineas) moleskins are on sale at Paul Stuart. I got 2 pairs last week for about 30% off. They are on the 2nd floor mixed in amongst the sale trousers set up on the tables.

I stopped by the Americana RL store in Manhasset yesterday. There are quite a few 38R's left on sale for the BL rack (some other sizes as well but the selection was a lot less). I picked up 2 BL shirts and a BL tie since they were on sale too.
