I still think at his core, Doomsday makes a bad choice as a villain for a reboot/1st film. He's famous for killing Superman. If they wanted to bring him in, I would wait till the 3rd film so it feels more climatic in the overall grand story arc even if he didn't kill Superman in the film.

I honestly do not want to see Zod as a villain for this film either. I just don't see him very interesting for some reason, not in the film anyways. Maybe they should do Lex and Brainiac in which Brainiac starts to attach himself to Lex in the end and opens up for a sequel. Maybe even have Metallo as a sub-villain, he always seemed to obey Lex and then Brainiac can be an easter egg through out the whole film. I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Parasite either.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gog or Magog but that is just too confusing for a film. Same with Mister Mxyzptlk.

In all honesty, I was never a fan of Superman's rogues gallery. Aside from Lex and Zod, most of his villains are either one-dimensional brutes or too farfetched for the mainstream audience to fully embrace.

^ Smallville already did it. [IMG] Again, they did a pretty good job.

I do think Brainiac makes a lot of sense. You can do the whole invasion angle and have a character that would force someone like Lex to have to help the man of steel.

You can't have Lex help Superman in the first of a series. Even if people KNOW Lex is a bad guy, you still have to make it more meaningful then this.

I'd put Darkseid over Zod anyday. Darkseid is actually a pretty complex guy, he's pretty interesting. They've also evolved Doomsday to be more dimensional.

He could have been a good and fun episode for Smallville though. I think they might have actually put an incarnation of him in the show but I do not really pay attention to the show anymore since they butcher most appearances/cameos of other heroes and villains.

Never really watched Smallville, but it would be cool if he broke out the Lex suit.
