I doubt it is more known than SpiderMans origins and outside of Smallville and the late 90's cartoon, his origins hasn't really been told that much. There are much, much more Spiderman cartoons from 2000 and upwards and 2 origin films were made in the span of ~10 years.

I'm interested in Snyder/Nolans (Christophers brother that co-wrote TDK & TDKR) take on the origins. Plus they hired Crowe as Jor-El so it'll be interesting how things go in this version. I really, really do not mind a new Superman origins at all. I welcome it much more than the Spiderman origins, it just has to be down right.

Yeah - very armor-ish. I wonder if they're stressing Kryptonian warrior heritage, hence Jor-El is the black sheep of the society being a man of science instead.

Has there been a bigger comic-to-movie  yet made by Marvel or DC?

Not counting Hipster Peter in S3...

    The whole Elektra film.

    Bane in Batman & Robin.

    The whole Catwoman film.

    Venom in SM3.

Those are top 4 of the worst of the worst bastardization of comic books.

Even the amount of skin couldn't save that film. Now if she had a scene like the one she had in Monsters Ball then the movie would have been much more watchable.

What was wrong with the kid in Superman Returns? The concept worked in the context of the story being told and he certainly wasn't your typical annoying kid actor. It was fine.

    1. While the film itself was bad, I liked Jennifer Garner for the part.

    2. This was actually quite funny so I tend not to give it too much shit.

    3. Why they even greenlit that pile of excrement, I'll never know.

    4. I do have a soft spot for SM3 but casting Topher Grace for the part made the Venom character DOA as far as I'm concerned.

We've discussed this endlessly but it was simply a terrible idea. At the end, Supes became a stalker with super powers. I'm a big Superman fan and I really wanted to like the inclusion of the kid in the film but it was just simply a bad idea.

I know it's been discussed to death here. Still think you guys are incorrect with your analysis of that story plot point, but whatever. We all have opinions and it worked for me. :nodding:

I really did like the film int he beginning but I just saw it again last week and every time I re-watch it, I start to hate it more and more. The movie just moves so slow and he really never felt like he was "Superman" in the film.
