I would not start a separate thread for a restaurant unless it was truly deserving.

Last night for my b'day I went to Maloney & Porcelli on 50th bw Park and Lex for their $75 wine dinner...one of the best dining experiences I've had in NYC! I was going to post in the best value thread but I did not know if $75 was considered a best value.

At any rate, its any appetizer, entree and dessert + unlimited wine! The first is champagne, than a white with your appetizer and two reds with the main course. I was there with two buddies. We had all 4 glasses full at all times...it was ridiculous...the waiter did not need to be asked, they just keep filling them! As for the food...I had a lobster cocktail which was a whole lobster presented with the shells already cracked over ice, my entree was the crispy pork shank, unbelievable, huge braised thing that they flash fry at the end with spicy applesauce and poppyseed sauerkraut. I couldn't even eat the chocolate cake they brought me....this place is a new favorite of mine...$75 for a killer meal as opposed to $100 plus at some of the other steakhouses, without the wine. The service was much more friendly and accommodating as well. Check it out if you are in NYC.
