Make your leather accessories

I'm very interested in making my own belts, laptop cases and so on. I figure this should be easy enough to learn in my own home if I just get the right tools and buy high quality leather. Is it possible to buy leather which are fully treated to a fair price? Anyone now where to start regarding how to make the leather accessories or where to get tools and leather?
